DETROIT, MI – Someone opens fire with a gun outside a young east side Detroit boy’s home. One of the bullets from that gun killed the little boy while he slept his bed.
The little boy is identified as Jakari Pearson. The child was sleeping in his bed when a bullet came through the wall striking him in the upper body.
EMS transported Jakari to Childrens Hospital of Detroit where he was pronounced dead.
Detroit Police have someone in custody as of 6:30 a.m. The investigation is indicating that it was some kind of domestic dispute that took place near the boy’s home.
Detroit Police are on the scene investigating the shooting that happened around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of East St.
