For many years the Relay For Life of Alpena County was held at the Alpena County Fairground. This year it was moved to the Maritime Heritage Trail in downtown Alpena. Though the venue was more compact, it did not stop those wanting to find a cure for cancer.
Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the Relay For Life of Alpena County and the 30th anniversary for the nationwide Relay for Life.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries take part in this global event to raise needed funds and awareness to help save lives from cancer.
