Allegan County House Fire Kills Two

SALEM TOWNSHIP, MI – The Salem Township Fire Department was dispatched to 4396 Coyote Lane, which is in Salem Township, for a report of a house fire.

The call came in around 7:30 am this morning. The caller reported flames coming from the home. The residence, a single wide mobile home, was engulfed in flames when the Fire Dept. and Deputies arrived on scene. Assistance was provided by the Dorr Fire Dept. and Wayland EMS.

The Fire Dept. received a report from a neighbor that there could possibly be someone inside. The Fire Dept. discovered 2 victims inside and began CPR. Both victims were transported to Metro hospital where they were both pronounced deceased.

The female victim is Brenda Lee Metcalf, 55-years old.

The name of the male victim, age 54, is being withheld until notification can be made with the next of kin.
