Roseville Police make arrest in Newborns Death

ROSEVILLE, MI – A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in thebreaking-news death of a newborn found in a Roseville recycling center dumpster.

The woman is from Eastpoint and is expected to be arraigned on charges Tuesday, January 27th, 2015.

Police believe that the death of the baby boy was intentional.  The woman in custody could face an Open Murder charge.

Police say that she had three other children but lost custody of them.

The newborn white male baby had been discovered by workers at the ReCommunity Recycling Depot located at 30615 Groesbeck in Roseville.

It appears as if the newborn was discarded just after birth as his umbilical cord was still attached.  The boy was born around Dec. 22 and died two days later.

Roseville Chief James Berlin says the 24-year-old woman is expected to appear in court Wednesday in Eastpointe. He says a “sick story” has “become sicker” as investigators learn more about the death of the newborn.

He was given an unofficial name of Henry Alexander Macomb.  His burial is still pending.
