6 yr old Lansing Boy Injured on Bicycle in Jackson County

GRASS LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI – On Monday, August 17th, 2015 at approximately 11:00 am, Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff were dispatched to Sarossy Lake Road near East Michigan Avenue in Grass Lake Township for a Car vs. Bicycle traffic crash.police-line-do-not-cross-investigation-graphic

A 6-year-old boy from Lansing was traveling south on Sarossy Lake Road in the company of 3 other cyclists. A Honda CRV driven by a 59-year-old Grass Lake Township woman was also traveling south and struck the 6-year-old cyclist.

The boy was transported by Survival Flight to University of Michigan Hospital with serious injuries. The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of traffic crash. The driver of the Honda CRV was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into this incident.
