SAGINAW, MI – On Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015, at approximately 12:26am, City of Saginaw officers responded to a ‘shots fired’ 911 call in the area of Douglass Street and Youmans Street.
Upon arrival on the scene, officers discovered a pick-up truck resting against a street sign with the victim, Dakota Rico, 21-years-old, a Hispanic male, was slumped over in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. It was determined that the victim was deceased. It appears that the victim was shot and died due to apparent gunshot wounds. There is no suspect information at this time.
Rico was a resident of Midland.
“If anyone has any information at all we are asking that you contact CRIMESTOPPERS immediately,” stated D/Sgt. Reggie Williams.
This is a joint investigation between Saginaw Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police. Their departments are still interviewing witnesses regarding this case and the investigation is on-going.
