PORT HURON, MI – The St. Clair County Drug Task Force made an arrest following a short chase Tuesday afternoon, October 20th, 2015.
According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the DTF conducted a lengthy investigation into heroin sales in the city of Port Huron. On October 20th at about 4:00 p.m., members of the DTF attempted to stop a vehicle at the McDonalds on Pine Grove Avenue. The suspect took off from the parking lot.
Port Huron Police was called for assistance in apprehending the suspect. A PHPD officer located the vehicle in the area of 10th Avenue and Kearney in Port Huron. The suspect again fled in his car and was eventually stopped at 10th Avenue and 12th Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident. A search of the 46 year old Port Huron man’s car found heroin inside, along with cash.
A short time later, the DTF executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home in the 1600 block of 23rd Street in Port Huron. Approximately $400 worth of heroin was found and confiscated, along with a digital scale, packaging materials and cell phones.
The suspect is lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. He is expected to face charges including possession with intent to deliver heroin, maintaining a drug house, fleeing and eluding and being a habitual offender 4th.
