Two Car Accident in Alpena Shuts Down U.S. 23 South (Video)

ALPENA, MI – A two car accident partially shut down U.S. 23 southbound in Alpena on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015.Wreck on U.S 23 South - Alpena

911 central dispatch received a call concerning a multi-vehicle accident at 5:50 p.m.

Two vehicles, a smaller red sedan and a white SUV collided near the intersection of Pearl Road and U.S. 23 South when the driver of the SUV attempted to turn into the Admiral Gas Station.

A 34-year-old female occupant of the SUV did sustain non-life threatening injuries.  She did refuse to be transported by EMS to Alpena Regional Medical Center.  She chose to seek treatment on her own.

Occupants of both cars were restrained with seat-belts.  Alcohol nor drugs were factors concerning the crash.

Michigan State Police, Alpena County Sheriff and City of Alpena EMS responded to the scene.
