Mecosta County Suspects Arrested for Home Invasion of Fellow Student’s Apartments

BIG RAPIDS, MI – A weekend investigation into the Home Invasion that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday December 19th, 2015, at the Campus Creek Apartments in Big Rapids Township, lead Mahogany Youngto the arrest of Dandre Jones, a 24-year-old male Ferris student, and Mahogany Young, a 21-year-old female Ferris student, both residing in Big Rapids at Campus Creek Apartments.

A search warrant was executed on Jones and Young’s apartment and stolen property from the Home Invasion was found to be in their possession.

The couple had sold some of the stolen items online on a local “For Sale” site on Facebook and were in the process of selling the other items online.   The search also resulted in the confiscation of Marijuana.

Jones was arrested for Home Invasion and Possession of Marijuana and was arraigned in the 77th District Court and remains in custody on a $75,000 bond.Dandre Jones

Young, who is currently on Felony Probation, was arrested on Probation Violation, Possession of Marijuana, and a Violation of Conditional Bond from a prior arrest, and was arraigned in the 77th District Court and remains in custody on a $ 60,000 bond.

Charges are being reviewed by the Prosecutor on her involvement in the Home Invasion.
