Battle Creek Home Invasion puts 3 Behind Bars

BATTLE CREEK, MI – At approximately 12:30 a.m., on Sunday December 27th, 2015, Officers of the Battle Creek Police Department responded to a call of a breaking and entry occurring in the 100 block of Upton Ave. Home Invasion

The victims fled the house and reported three suspects wearing masks and carrying firearms had kicked in the front door of their home.

Officers were able to contain the suspects in the house and were able to call two of the suspects out of the residence where they were taken into custody. The last suspect attempted to hide in a crawl space in the basement. A Battle Creek Police K-9 Unit located the suspect and he was also taken into custody.  The suspect received medical attention for dog bites.

Evidence was located including firearms, masks and gloves.

This incident is apparently related to an incident a day previous involving a robbery at the same location. The case is under investigation.   At this time a motive is not known but it is not a random situation.
