Vehicle Crash Kills Three in Ottawa County

PARK TOWNSHIP, MI – Three people were killed in a vehicle crash in Ottawa County late Saturday morning.Madi McMaster

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 20th, 2016.

Patricia Rayner, 62-years-old, of Lake Odessa, was driving north on 152nd Avenue near Quincy Street in a Volkswagen Beetle when she ran a stop sign and hit an eastbound pickup truck driven by Bryan Rotman, 37-years-old, of Holland.

Rayner had two passengers in her vehicle. Her daughter, Casey McMaster, 24-years-old, of Clarksville and her granddaughter, Madi McMaster, who was 9-months-old.  Rayner and her daughter, Casey, were ejected from the vehicle.

Patricia Rayner and her granddaughter, Madi, died at the scene of the crash.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Madi was properly secured in a car seat.

Casey McMaster was transported to the hospital by AeroMed where she later died.

Rotman had his two children, ages 2 and 5, in his pickup at the time of the accident.  The three of them suffered only minor injuries.

A Go Fund Me account has been established to raise money for funeral costs and other expenses.
