CASS COUNTY, MI – The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team, in a joint investigation with the St. Joseph County Street Crimes Unit out of Indiana, executed a search warrant in the 71000 block of M-62 in Ontwa Township under suspicion that the manufacture of methamphetamine was taking place there.
Upon searching the dwelling, detectives located multiple one pot methamphetamine labs, components used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, methamphetamine, and methamphetamine paraphernalia. Several firearms were located as well, including seven long guns and two handguns. One of the handguns was found fully loaded in close proximity to the drugs and paraphernalia.
Three suspects were arrested, a 24-year-old male, a 42-year-old male, and a 48-year-old female, on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, manufacturing hazardous waste, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and felony firearm. The 42-year-old male and the 48-year-old female were also arrested on warrants out of the St Joseph County Street Crimes Unit in Indiana on charges related to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The suspects’ names are being with held pending arraignment. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
