MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A suspected drunken driver ran into the rear end of another car in Warren on Wednesday, April 13th, 2016, killing one person in a fiery crash. That drunk driver has now been formally charged.
Moncia Lacey, 25-years-old, is accused of causing the deadly accident that took the life of 65-year-old Haleem Goode.
Goode was on his way to pick up his wife from dialysis.
Lacey admitted to police that she had been bar-hopping prior to the accident. She also should not have been behind the wheel due to not having a valid drivers license. She never has had a valid driver’s license. Monica Lacey has 17 suspensions on her record, mostly for failing to show up in court and for not paying court judgments against her.
Monica Lacey is charged with homicide/manslaughter with a motor vehicle and operating a car with a suspended license.
Lacey was arraigned Thursday at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. Her bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
