On Tuesday, April 12th, 2016, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 4200 block of Kane Rd, Exeter Township in regards to a 911 call being made from the victim of the residence.
The victim was having trouble with her 18 year-old ex-boyfriend, Matthew Wills, and has a personal protection order (PPO) against him. Matthew was actively trying to get inside her house and yelling that he was going to kill the victim. The victims parents were on their way to the scene. Matthew had broken into the garage and was now trying to gain access to the residence through the interior door. Matthew then poured gasoline all over his person and the front door of the residence. Matthew was threatening to burn the residence down and light himself on fire. The victims parents arrived home and Matthew was detained just prior to the responding deputies arriving.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau continued the investigation, conducted further interviews and gathered numerous items of evidence.
On Thursday, April 14th, 2016, Matthew Wills was arraigned in the First District Court on the listed charges and he was given a $500,000 bond.
