FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, MI – The driver of a motorcycle and the person driving a vehicle involved in a deadly accident in Allegan County are believed to have been drinking alcohol before the crash.
The crash happened at 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 17th, 2016, at the intersection of 48th Street and 142nd Avenue.
Ronald Freeman, 47-years-old, of Hamilton, was traveling south on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was being followed by a Toyota Land Rover when both vehicles failed to stop for the stop sign at 142nd.
The driver of the Land Rover ran into the back of the motorcycle. Freeman was ejected from his vehicle.
Ronald Freeman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities believe that he had been drinking before the accident.
He was airlifted to Spectrum Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The driver of the Land Rover was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.
