On Wednesday, May 18th, 2016, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Calhoun County Deputies assigned to the Pennfield Division responded to the 100 Block of Maxwell in Pennfield Township for an initial report of a stabbing and armed robbery.
Upon arrival contact was made with several subjects including the victim. The victim, a 14 year old resident of Pennfield Township, sustained a serious laceration to his left shoulder. The individuals at the house originally gave a story of an unknown male attempting to rob them, stabbing the victim before fleeing.
While on scene, Deputies were able to learn the real story that the victim was stabbed by a 15 year old Pennfield Township juvenile who was still on scene. The juvenile suspect had broken into the residence and fought with the victim resulting in the victim being stabbed. The argument and fight being over a 13 year old female who was on scene.
The victim was transported to Bronson Battle Creek with non life threatening injuries. The juvenile suspect was lodged at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, Battle Creek Police Department, Pennfield Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
