HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA – Five people from the Detroit area were arrested in Huntington, West Virginia for drugs and weapons violations.
According to WSAZ, a total of six people were arrested after police found drugs and guns in an apartment in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue in Huntington on Wednesday, June 29th, 2016.
Harold Scott, 28-years-old, Martin Jamal, 44-years-old, Ebony Johnson, 52-years-old, Jalen Dodson, 21-years-old, all of Detroit, have been charged with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. Taleyah Chappell, 23-years-old, of Redford, has been charged with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.
The sixth suspect, Martinez Pettiford, 23-years-old, of Huntington, West Virginia, is charged with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.
The Huntington Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau and SWAT team executed a search warrant on the apartment, finding six people inside along with nearly a pound of heroin in the apartment, seven guns and several thousand dollars in cash around the apartment. They also found things to process drugs for sale including a large ceramic plate, digital scales, plastic baggies, a cell phone and blenders.
All six were arraigned in Cabell County Magistrate Court on $250,000 cash-only bonds and transported to Western Regional Jail at 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
In yet another case in Huntington, on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016, five more people were arrested after Huntington Police say they found drugs and guns in another apartment.
Trevon Anthony Brown, 27-years-old, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and child neglect creating risk of injury.
Mickayla Erin Chambers, 19-years-old, of Huntington, is charged with child neglect creating risk of injury.
Annquenett Shantel Murray, 19-years-old, of Huntington, is charged with possession with intent to deliver and child neglect.
Charles Michael Murria, 23-years-old, of Detroit, is charged with possession with intent to deliver and child neglect. He is also wanted in Detroit.
Dwayne Demario Williams, 25-years-old, of Detroit, is charged with possession to deliver and child neglect.
According to Huntington Police Capt. Rocky Johnson, “There was a loaded gun within easy reach of a child, and there was dope readily available,” Johnson said. “The kid could’ve got his hands on it and caused a problem.”
