BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 26-year-old Commerce Township man was killed when his pickup truck hit a guard rail early Friday morning on Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Township.
On July 16th, 2016, at approximately 7:25 a.m., a 2007 Chevy Impala driven by a 27-year-old man from St. Clair Shores collided with a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup driven by the 26-year-old from Commerce Township, according to police. The 26-year old driver was thrown from the Ford F-150 after it was hit by a Chevy Impala. The truck then hit a guard rail and then rolled over into the median, just west of Opdyke Rd.
Investigators said it appears the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Impala was not injured.
Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
As an investigation by the Bloomfield Township Traffic Investigations Unit continues, police are looking for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 248-433-7749.
