ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic assault complaint at a business located in the 1900 block of Star Batt Drive.
The caller reported that a woman had been physically assaulting her husband at that location. Upon arrival, Deputies ascertained that the woman did assault her 90-year-old husband and another employee, a 49-year-old, of Lake Orion, at that location.
A Deputy advised the 72-year-old woman, of Rochester Hills, that she was under arrest and attempted to handcuff her. As the Deputy attempted to place his handcuffs on the woman, she began to pull away and began resisting the Deputy’s efforts to handcuff her. During the struggle, the Deputy and the woman fell on the floor. The Deputy landed on his left shoulder. After the woman was secured, the Deputy began experiencing pain and numbness in his left arm.
The woman was arrested for Domestic Assault and Resisting and Obstructing a Police Office Causing Injury. The Deputy was treated and released from St. John’s Hospital – Oakland in Madison Heights.
