SANILAC TOWNSHIP, MI – On Friday, September 9th, 2016, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two vehicle personal injury accident on Lakeshore Road and Custer Road in Sanilac Township.
According to Sgt. Shelly Park, a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 16-year-old male from Port Sanilac pulled off Custer Road into the path of 2016 Chevorlet Cruz driven by a 35-year-old female from Deckerville. The Deckerville woman was transported to Mckenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS for treatment of her injuries and the 16-year-old was not injured.
The operators were wearing their seatbelts and both vehicles had air bag deployment. The 16-year-old was cited for the accident.
Sanilac County Deputies were assisted at the scene by Port Sanilac Fire Department and Sanilac EMS.
