Drunk Man Arrested for Home Invasion in Oakland County

ORION TOWNSHIP, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Pasadena Drive on the report of a Home Invasion in progress.  maguirekirk-thomas

Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a highly intoxicated man attempting to kick-in the door of the home.  Deputies secured the subject and continued with their investigation.

The suspect, identified as Kirk Thomas Maguire, 52-years-old, had entered a home that was occupied by a pregnant woman and her husband.  The couple had locked an interior door however the subject was able to access a breezeway where he continued to try to get into the home.  The homeowner called 9-1-1 to report the intruder and the subject walked away.  Maguire had attempted to break into another nearby residence.  He was confronted by the homeowner and his son and began verbally threatening to assault them.  The suspect then returned to the first address and began banging on the door until Deputies arrived.

Maguire was placed under arrest.  There were no reported injuries during the incident.  The subject was transported to the Oakland County Jail where he was lodged pending the issuance of criminal charges.

The suspect, Kirk Thomas Maguire, was arraigned on Monday, September 12th, 2016 in the 52-3 District Court by Magistrate Melinda Balian on:

1 Count: Breaking and Entering – Illegal Entry a 90 day Misd,  and 1 Count Trespassing -30 day Misd. and he remains in OCJ on a $1000 cash bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
