I-696 Tunnel Lights Being Replaced in Oakland County

DETROIT, MI – Beginning Monday, work begins on three I-696 tunnels between Coolidge and Southfield Roads to replace the tunnel lights.  MDOT

Crews will be closing two lanes nightly from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, alternating between eastbound and westbound I-696, always leaving two lanes open.

The three month project will begin Monday, October 31st on westbound I-696 at Coolidge Highway with two lanes closed, leaving two lanes open.
