OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence located in the 900 block of Keith St. for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, Deputies spoke to the victim who stated that he and a friend, two 20-years-olds from Oxford Township, were at a local BP Gas Station located at 721 S. Lapeer Rd. where they ran into 3 subjects who they were acquainted with. As the victim and his passenger left the gas station they noticed that the three subjects were following them in a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer. The suspects followed them for approximately ½ mile to the intersection of Glaspie Rd. and Doral Dr.
As the victims turned onto Doral Dr. the rear window shattered leading the victims to believe they had been shot at. The victims drove to the Keith St. residence and called 9-1-1. Deputies observed the vehicle’s rear windshield shattered and a bullet hole in the trunk area of the victim’s vehicle. The intersection where the shooting occurred was checked by Deputies who located shell casings on the ground. Detectives were contacted and the victim’s vehicle was impounded until it was able to be processed by the OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory.
Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle in the driveway of a home located in the 200 block of W. Drahner Rd. Deputies made contact with the driver, an 18-year-old, at that residence and took him into custody. Deputies transported the driver to the substation for an interview. The driver indicated that the suspect, a 17-year-old male, seated in the rear of his vehicle was the shooter. That suspect was located at an apartment located in the 2900 block of Seymour Lake Rd. in Oxford Township. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the substation for questioning and then both suspects were lodge OCJ pending charges. The third suspect, a 17-year-old male, of Pontiac, is still being sought.
