Two Shot in Grand Rapids Drive-by Shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Two 22-year-old men were hospitalized following a drive-by shooting near the intersection of Prince St and Neland Av SE.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:00 am. on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Officers were called to the area after several shots were fired. One victim was located at a residence on the 1000 block of Prince St. That victim suffered a gunshot to his waist. The other victim was located at a house on the 1000 block of Franklin St. He was shot in the leg. Both victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates both men were on foot when several shots were fired from a vehicle as it passed by. The vehicle fled following the shooting. The suspect vehicle is described as a light gray vehicle.
