CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP, MI – The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident at Wise and Millbrook Roads involving a 17-year-old driver and two adult passengers on Tuesday, March 14th 2017 at 6:37 p.m.
The driver, Kaitlyn Huber, 17-years-old, of Shepherd, driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, was engaged in an argument with two other occupants of the vehicle when she became distracted and left the roadway. Huber attempted to bring the vehicle back onto the roadway but it appears she over corrected the vehicle and it began to roll over.
The rear seat passenger, Laura Soderquist, a 52-year-old woman, from Shepherd, was ejected from the vehicle.
The third occupant of vehicle is identified as Bobbi Huber, a 35-year-old man, from Shepherd.
Kaitlyn Huber and Bobbie Huber sustained multiple injuries and were transported to Mid-Michigan Midland. Laura Soderquist, who was ejected from the vehicle, was air lifted by Flight Care to Mid-Michigan Midland with a head injury.
Factors contributing to the crash are Distracted driving and seat belt use.
Assisting at the scene of the accident were Isabella County Central Dispatch, Shepherd Tri-Township Fire Department, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police and Mobile Medical Response.
