RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI – Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Baldwin Road, north of Stewart Road, in Raisinville Township.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Alec R. Harwood, 23-years-old, of Maybee, was operating a black in color 2006 GMC pick-up truck northbound on Baldwin Road. At this time for unknown reasons, Harwood’s vehicle left the roadway to the east entering into the eastside ditch of Baldwin Road, which caused his vehicle to overturn several times ejecting him. Alec Harwood was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.
Mr. Harwood was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol is a factor in the crash.
Monroe Community Ambulance and the L.M.R. Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Sheriff Brian Quinn of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Bureau along with Deputy Ian Glick of the Uniform Services Division. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call 734-240-7493.
