Body found in Trunk of Car in SW Detroit believed to be Missing 26 yr old Man

DETROIT, MI – A 26-year-old man from Detroit was found dead in the trunk of a car on Detroit’s south-west side.

Ashton Butler had been missing for six days and his family said that was not like him. His family had been utilizing social media to enlist help to locate him.  Social media started lighting up upon the discovery of the body.

Though it is unconfirmed at this time, it is believed to be unfortunately, Ashton Butler who was found in the trunk of a black Ford Fusion in a garage behind an abandoned home on 3100 block of Ethel Street in south-west Detroit at about 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017.

Police did say it was a man’s body, but no further details about the victim were released.

Butler was last seen on Thursday, March 30th, 2017, around 7:15 pm, in southwest Detroit. Ashton was driving a 2007 black four door, Ford Fusion, with tinted windows. License plate # DJX8719
