LEXINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI – On Thursday, April 6th, 2017, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call regarding a single vehicle accident in which one subject was injured on Harrington Road near Black River Road in Lexington Township.
The investigation revealed that 20-year-old Mark Hascall Jr. of Burtchville was eastbound on Harrington Road and lost control of his vehicle due to the adverse weather conditions. The vehicle entered the field on the south side of the road, rolled once, and landed on its roof.
Matthew Cottrell, 26 of Croswell was driving by the accident scene on Harrington Road and located the vehicle with the occupant still inside, asking for help. He assisted the subject out of the vehicle and called 911.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Port Huron McLaren Hospital by Croswell EMS for treatment of injuries. It is believed that the subject was wearing his seatbelt and the airbags did not deploy.
Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by Croswell Police and Croswell Fire Department.
