Carjacking reported near U of M in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, MI – University of Michigan Police issued a campus crime alert about a carjacking that took place just off campus on Friday, April 7th, 2017.

The incident took place in the 400 block of E. Washington St., near S. Division St., off-campus.

At about 1:00 a.m., the victim sat in a parked vehicle when an unknown male opened the passenger door, pointed a handgun at the vehicles owner and then demanded the car. The driver jumped out. The suspect got in the vehicle and drove it a short distance before crashing the vehicle. The suspect then fled on foot.
