Detroit Man Charged with Killing Two Brothers

DETROIT, MI – A name correction to a previous press release has been issued from the Wayne County Prosecutors Office.

In the original press release the Wayne County Prosecutors Office had stated that the man who was charged with the double murder of two brothers in Detroit was named Stanley Aubrey which was incorrect.

Aubrey Stanley, 42-years-old, of Detroit, was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm.

On April 9 at 7:57 pm in the front yard of a location in the 20000 block of Schaefer in Detroit it is alleged that he fatally shot brothers Louis T. Phillips, 28-years-old and Alex D. Stewart, 24-years-old. All of the men are Detroit residents.

The defendant was arraigned on Saturday in 34th  District Court in Romulus and remanded to jail. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 25, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 2, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.  Both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Lydia Nance Adams
