DETROIT, MI – Stanley Faulk, 23-years-old, of Inkster and Keith Harvey, 26-years-old, of Detroit, have been charged in connection with the assault of Brandon Putnam, 23-years-old, of Detroit in Greektown.
On Sunday April 16, 2017, at approximately 1:00 a.m., on Monroe and St. Antoine Streets, it is alleged that a friend of Putnam’s got into a verbal argument with a group of approximately eight men. The argument became physical and another male friend of Putnam’s was assaulted by the group of men.
When Putnam went to aid his friend the group of men began to violently beat Putnam while he was on the ground. In addition to the beating Putnam’s personal property was stolen. Putnam is currently being treated in a local hospital for injuries he sustained during the attack.
Faulk and Harvey are charged with Unarmed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, and Felonious Assault. . It is alleged that cocaine was found on Harvey at the time of his arrest. Harvey has also been charged with Possession of Cocaine.
Faulk and Harvey were arraigned this afternoon before Magistrate Charles Anderson. The probable cause conference for both defendants is scheduled for April 26, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 3, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. Both defendants received a 5 million dollar cash/surety bond. High bond was set because both Faulk and Harvey have previous felony convictions.
