Jury Convicts Genesee County Man of 5 Counts of Rape Involving Minors

FLINT, MI – A jury Thursday convicted a 47-year-old man of sexually assaulting three underage victims on numerous occasions between 2002 and 2012.

Michael Von Krenitsky, 47-years-old, of Lake Linden, was found guilty of four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct after three sisters, now ages 15-22, testified that he assaulted each of them when they were under the age of 13.

The convictions carry a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 25 years.

The incidents came to light after the youngest victim came forward in an effort to prevent Krenitsky from assaulting anyone else. During the trial, a photography book that showed pictures of nude underage girls was allowed in as evidence after Krenitsky took the stand in his own defense.

“This defendant committed horrific acts against these young women and he will now have to pay a heavy price for what he did,” said Prosecutor Leyton after the verdicts were read.

Sentencing is set for May 15, 2017.
