Photos Posted to Facebook Group are Fake

DETROIT, MI – At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 26th, 2017, two photos were posted to a group on Facebook that sent several members into overdrive trying to find out the truth.

No one for some time was sure if the photos showing a woman having been tied up and gagged were real or not. Many just wanted to help.  Multiple searches of the internet were taking place simultaneously by hundreds of people to get to the bottom of what was going on.

Major news media was tagged in the post along with Detroit Police.

The post was removed from the group about two hours after it was posted.  The question still remained if the photos were real or fake.

We have finally received word from very reliable sources that the photos are indeed not real. They are fake.  It seems that these same photos circulated about a year ago and were deemed to be a hoax.  The woman in the pictures is not in distress or in need of assistance.
