KENOCKEE TOWNSHIP, MI – A 16-year-old Ruby teenager suffered multiple injuries when he crashed his truck Wednesday afternoon in Kenockee Township.
Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene of a one vehicle accident.
During their investigation, it was determined Justin May was traveling eastbound on Imlay City Road west of Cribbins Road shortly after 3:00 p.m., when he lost control of his 1998 GMC Sonoma. The truck went off the right side of the roadway, hit two trees and overturned onto the driver’s side.
Members of the Kenockee Township Fire and Rescue had to extricate May from the vehicle. He was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, then taken to a Detroit area hospital.
Deputies investigating the crash believe speed was a factor in the crash. May was not wearing a seatbelt.
