Oakland County Teen Dies from Suspected Overdose

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI – Another suspected drug overdose claimed the life of a teenager in Oakland County on Friday July 14th, 2017.

At approximately 12:40 a.m. Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Commerce Township Fire Department responded to the 3000 block of Roselawn Street for a subject who was reported to be unresponsive.

The girlfriend of the victim, awakened to find her boyfriend, an 18-year-old, on the bedroom floor. Paramedics from the Commerce Township Fire Department and Community EMS attempted to resuscitate the victim with no success. Paramedics provided telemetry to Huron Valley Hospital where a physician pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The girlfriend advised Deputies that the teenager had a history of substance abuse. Deputies found narcotic paraphernalia at the scene. There were no signs of foul play.

A Detective and an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist with the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled. The incident remains under investigation.
