Lincoln Park Man Charged in Fatal Crash Killing Wayne County Road Worker

DETROIT, MI – A 47-year-old Lincoln Park man, employed as a truck driver for Wayne County, has been charged in connection with a fatal car crash that killed David Wolf, 47-years-old, and injured Wilbert King, 46-years-old both of Detroit. 

Wolf and King were also employed by Wayne County repairing roads on the day of the crash.

On Thursday March 23rd, 2017, at approximately 10:39 a.m., near Van Born and Fellrath, in Taylor, it is alleged that the 47-year-old man was driving a Wayne County truck when he crashed into Wolf and King as they were working filling asphalt on damaged portions of the road.

Medics arrived at the scene and transported Wolf and King to a local hospital. Wolf died at the hospital from multiple injuries sustained in the crash. King was treated for serious injuries to his abdomen and leg that he sustained in the crash.

Today the defendant has been charged with Reckless Driving Causing Death (Wolf), Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment (King), Work Zone Death and Work Zone Injury.

The name of the defendant will not be released until he is in custody and arrangements have been made for him to be arraigned on the charges.
