Benton Harbor Woman’s death ruled as Possible Drug Overdose

BENTON HARBOR, MI – The death of a 36-year-old woman in Benton Harbor, who was found dead inside of a residence on Sunday, was initially ruled as suspicious.

On Sunday September 3rd, 2017, Officers of the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to a request for assistance in the 1200 Block of Superior.

Officers responded and while checking a residence discovered a woman was dead inside of the house. The woman was identified as 36-year-old Jeanette Finehout. She was found deceased in a bedroom in the home.

Detectives are investigating Finehout’s death deemed it as suspicious pending the results of the autopsy.

On Tuesday September 5th, an autopsy was completed on Jeanette Finehout. The autopsy was completed at Western Michigan University Pathology. The cause of death was identified as a potential drug overdose. The final results are pending complete toxicology results, which will take a few weeks for completion.

This matter is being investigated to also determine the sources of the alleged narcotics.
