Man arrested In Manistee on Meth charge when found Camping on Private Property

MANISTEE, MI – On Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, at approximately 7:00PM, deputies from the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a trespassing complaint near the intersection of 9 Mile Road and Highbridge Road in Maple Grove Township.

During the investigation, deputies discovered a 32-year-old man from Almont with a make shift tent where we was found to be camping on private property without permission.  In his possession were components used to manufacture methamphetamine.

The man was lodged in the Manistee County Jail pending formal criminal charges for maintaining a methamphetamine laboratory.  He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of that charge.

The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police and the SSCENT narcotics team.
