FREELAND, MI – Michigan State Police need your help! They are looking for more volunteers who are passionate about saving lives and making a difference in our communities. As an “Angel” volunteer you will be asked to assist people struggling with drug addiction and help reduce drug demand.
As Angel listens and engages with participants, provides resources and encouragement, assists participants with program paperwork and provides transportation to treatment. The Angel Program allows someone with a drug addiction to walk into a state police post to seek help for their addiction, without the fear of arrest or investigation.
Interested volunteers will be asked to complete a brief training that the Tri City Post will conduct on Monday October 30th from 4:30p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Tri City Post. Volunteers will also need reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and must live within one hour of the Tri-City Post. Volunteers will be reimbursed for mileage and meals while helping participants.
If you are interested in learning more about the program please feel free to attend the training on October 30th. There will also be a make-up training session at the Tri-City Post on November 7th at 5:00p.m. Please RSVP for the training session by contacting the Tri-City Post at 989-495-5553.
“You truly could save a life.” Please consider joining our team, and donating your time to someone in need!
