Harper Woods High School Student Charged with Disturbing the Peace [Updated]

HARPER WOODS, MI – On October 24, 2017 at approximately 11:00 a.m. at Harper Woods High School located in the 20200 block of Beaconsfield  it is alleged that a juvenile Harper Woods High School student, 14-years-old, was seen taunting and making hand a gesture toward a fellow  student. They had been suspended for allegedly making threats about shooting other students.

The alleged behavior was observed by a staff member and the respondent was suspended pending  an investigation.

Today Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged the juvenile respondent with violating Harper Woods Ordinance Code 1962, 8-102; Ord. No. 200, 1, 5-24-71) Sec. 14-48 for disturbing the peace and one count of Assault and Battery. He was arraigned this afternoon before Referee Nick Bobak at the Juvenile Detention Facility and he received a personal bond of $1000 with the condition that he have no contact with the victim or any witnesses.  He will have a Pre-Trial Hearing scheduled on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. before Referee Mona Youssef at the Lincoln Hall of Justice.
