Two 18 yr old Pontiac Teens Arrested in Murder near Motor City Burger & Co. over iPhone Sale

PONTIAC, MI – Two Pontiac teens have been arrested and charged with the murder of man near the Motor City Burger & Co.

On January 25th, 2018, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and Star EMS responded to Earlmoor Blvd. near Woodward Ave. south of the Motor City Burger & Co. for a shots fired complaint with a subject lying in the street.

Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim, Dominique Grandberry, a 33-year-old man, who was resident of the City of Pontiac, lying in the street with several gunshot wounds to his mid-section. An unoccupied Chevrolet Suburban (owned by the victim) was found partially parked on the sidewalk near the victim. Grandberry was holding the keys to the vehicle in his hand. Paramedics from Star EMS stabilized the victim before transporting him to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

Dominique Grandberry was later pronounced deceased at 7:48 p.m. by the attending Physician.

Detectives were contacted and responded to the scene. The OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory responded to process the scene. Deputies transported witnesses to the substation in order to be interviewed by Detectives. Witnesses observed two black males approach a Chevrolet Suburban in the McDonald’s parking lot located north of where the victim and his vehicle were found. Witnesses heard gunshots and then observed two black males running from the vehicle on Earlmoor. Deputies checked with the McDonald’s manager and Motor City Burger manager and were unable to observe the incident on their security cameras.



After developing several leads detectives from the Pontiac Substation were able to identify two suspects in the homicide. With the assistance of the Oakland County Fugitive Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team arrests were made and the two suspects were arraigned yesterday. Details are below and booking photos are attached.

The murder weapon, a .22 caliber handgun, was recovered by detectives. The suspects were buying an IPhone from the victim and paid him with counterfeit $100 bills. When the victim discovered they were fake he chased them on Earlmoor and one of the suspects shot and killed him and then they fled on foot from the murder scene.

Arraignment:

On 1/30/2018 Jaylen Rouser and Henry Brown were arraigned from Oakland County Jail via video arraignment by the Honorable Judge Thomas from the 50th District Court. Both subjects were denied bond. Both are due back in court on 2/8/18 in front of the Judge Thomas. Neither one has any prior criminal history.
