Ypsilanti Pizza Hut Delivery Driver Victim of Unarmed Robbery

YPSILANTI, MI – Fortunately a delivery driver for Pizza Hut in Ypsilanti was not injured when he became the victim of an unarmed robbery.

On Tuesday, February 6th, 2018, at approximately 9:40pm, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Pizza Hut on Rawsonville Rd for a Larceny Report. Upon arrival Deputies learned it was actually an Unarmed Robbery which took place in the 6900 Block of McKean Rd earlier.

During the investigation it was learned from the delivery driver that while delivering a pizza, one of two suspects forcibly took the soda pop which the driver had with the pizza. The suspects attempted to get the pizza as well but were unable to.

Deputies investigated further and found two residents at the location, one a 26 year old Ypsilanti Township man who was detained and the other a 25 year old Ypsilanti Township man who was subsequently arrested for Unarmed Robbery as well as a Concealed Weapons violation.

The 49 year old pizza delivery driver was not injured and the pop was recovered.

The case is under investigation at this time.
