20 yr old Ferndale Man Killed in Iosco County Vehicle Crash

OSCODA TOWNSHIP, MI – A 20-year-old Ferndale man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Thursday February 22nd, 2018 in Iosco County.

The Oscoda Township Police Department is seeking information on a fatal auto accident that happened early Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched at an area west of Oscoda, on Bissonette Road, around 6:40 a.m. on a report of a single-vehicle accident.

By the time police and emergency medical services personnel arrived on scene, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was already dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Jacob Earl Ayers of Ferndale.

Police believe Jacob Ayers was eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Oscoda Township Police at 989-739-9113.

Obituary for Jacob Ayers

Jacob Earl Ayers, age 20, of Ferndale, passed away on February 22, 2018. He was born December 25, 1997.

Beloved son of Michael and Ann Ayers. Devoted brother of Kevin Ayers. Loving grandson of Joseph and Linda Pinkos and Ron and Sandra Ayers. Jacob is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Kara Martin. He is loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and many friends.

Visitation, Monday, February 26th from 2-9 pm with funeral service on Tuesday, February 27th at 11 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, Madison Heights (one block north of 13 Mile Road on the west side of John R Road).
