FLINT, MI – Support is one of the best ways for victims of crime and their families to move forward.
That’s why Crime Stoppers of Flint & Genesee County, YWCA of Greater Flint, and The Office of Prosecutor David Leyton are partnering with local agencies for the 3rd Annual Genesee County Crime Victims’ Resource Fair. The fair will be held at the Flint Farmers’ Market, located at 300 East First Street in downtown Flint, on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The resource fair gives victims of crime and their families the opportunity to meet with local agencies that offer resources that can aid them in dealing with the ordeal they have gone through.
Other sponsors for the event include the Ruth Mott Foundation, Sonitrol, and Walmart. Some of the agencies participating in the event that will be on hand include:
· WOW Outreach
· Beauty for Ashes
· Genesee County Health Department
· Genesee County Human Trafficking Task Force
· Hamilton Community Health Network
· Michigan Faith in Action
· Mothers Against Drunk Drivers
· Odyssey House
· REACH & Traverse Place
· Voices Seen Voices Heard
· Weiss Advocacy Center
· Local Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, and Fire Departments
· Flint Firebirds
There will be fun activities for kids, as well as light refreshments. McGruff the Crime Dog and the Flint Firebirds’ Mascot, “Hot Wing”, will be making appearances as well!
The resource fair is free and open to the public.
