DETROIT, MI – A 21-year-old Detroit man is facing multiple charges after he fired a gun and the bullet struck an 8-year-old little girl.
Damond Ramone Reeves, 21-years-old, of Detroit has been charged with four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count CCW, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent and five counts of Felony Firearm.
Police have alleged Damond Reeves apparently started shooting at random Friday morning in the parking lot of a west side Detroit gas station after asking people for a cigarette.
The girl was struck in the arm as she and her mother waited at a traffic light near the gas station. Another vehicle was also hit by gunfire, but no other injuries were reported.
It is alleged that he shot an eight year old girl at Plymouth near Wyoming in Detroit in March 23, 2018. He was arraigned in 34th District Court in Romulus on Saturday March 24th, 2018. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 3, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge William McConico in 36th District Court.
