MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – An 18-year-old Shelby Township woman has lost her life after a fatal vehicle crash in Macomb Township.
On Friday March 30th, 2018, at approximately 12:15am, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two vehicle fatal crash at North Ave. and 24 Mile Rd.
A green 2002 Ford Escape and a silver 2014 Chevrolet Cruze collided at the intersection and the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze has died.
The Ford Escape was traveling southbound on North Ave. and the Chevrolet Cruze was traveling eastbound on 24 Mile Rd when the collision occurred. The driver of the Ford Escape is a 30 year male out of Chesterfield. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze is Haley Nardoni, 18, out of Shelby Township. Haley was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries. There were two additional female passengers in the Chevrolet Cruze, both 16 years of age; one out of Chesterfield and one out of Shelby Township. Both of these females were also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Macomb County Sheriff’s Detectives continue to investigate this crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash. All occupants, with the exception of the Chevrolet Cruze back seat passenger, were wearing seatbelts.
The roadway has reopened.
