DETROIT, MI – A Detroit man has been charged in the non-fatal shooting of 3-year-old London Clark while she sat in the back seat at a vehicle while at a Citgo gas station on the city’s northwest side last week.
Exel Taylor, 24-years-old, has been charged in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a three-year-old girl. On April 7, 2018 at 2:46 p.m. inside a gas station located in the 15900 block of Livernois, it is alleged that Taylor got into an argument with a 28-year-old Detroit man. They went outside and the argument became physical.
It is further alleged that Taylor went to a car, retrieved a weapon, and began shooting at the man. Taylor’s shot struck a three-year-old child in a car driven by his mother, who called 911. After the shooting, Taylor fled on foot and was arrested by the Detroit Police Department later the same day. The child was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for gunshot wound to the head.
Taylor is charged with three counts of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon –Motor Vehicle, Carrying a Weapon with Unlawful Intent, and four counts of Felony Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court on April 9, 2018.
