Pontiac Post Office Hit By Gunfire

PONTIAC, MI – On Monday July 9th, 2018, at approximately 6:00PM, Oakland County Deputies responded to the 700 block of W. Huron Street on the report of shots being heard in the area. Upon arrival, Deputies observed two broken front windows on the north side of the United States Post Office.USPS

The two windows had been blown out and a third remained intact with an obvious bullet hole in it. There were U.S. Postal workers and two customers, a 26-year-old man from Detroit and a 29-year-old woman from Westland, inside of the building at the time the windows were broken. It is unknown if the Post Office was the intended target.

Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. Post Office employees contacted the U. S. Post Master General’s Office and advised them of the incident. Investigators from the Post Master General’s Office responded to assist with the investigation. OCSO Detectives assisted the Postal Investigators as they indicated they would be handling the entire investigation.
