Detroit Police ask for Tips in Fatal Drive-by Shooting

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is reaching out to the public to help them identify a Person of Interest in the fatal drive-by shooting of a 16-year-old boy.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two Persons of Interests who may have information pertaining to a fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s west side.

On Friday August 24, 2018 at approximately 7:07 p.m., in the area of W. 7 Mile and Pierson, an unknown occupant inside of a Red Toyota fired shots at two male juveniles (15 and 16-years old) as they were attempting to change a flat tire at the location. Both victims were conveyed to a local hospital for treatment, unfortunately, the 16-year old male victim succumbed to his injuries. The 15-year old male victim was treated listed in stable condition.

Detroit Police needs assistance in locating the two Persons of Interests and believed they may have information pertaining to this crime.

Prior to the shooting, the victims had an encounter with the Person of Interests at a nearby business. The Persons of Interests were also seen driving a red 4 door Toyota with two missing front hubcaps and front damage on the driver’s side.
