Mecosta County Sheriff Investigating Suspicious Fire

BARRYTON, MI – On Thursday, November 22nd, 2018, the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to assist Chippewa-Martiny Fire Department with a fire investigation at the address of 6094 22 Mile Rd. in Barryton.

The Chippewa-Martiny Fire Department received a call, at approximately 3:11 am, for a fully involved structure fire as well as a vehicle that was also on fire in the back yard. The fire was a extinguished and no one was found to be at the residence and there were no injuries reported.

The Village of Barryton is about 30 miles east of Big Rapids.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone that saw anything suspicious in the area during that time frame to contact them at 231-592-0150 or through their tip line at: tips@mecostacounty.org.
